Once again this year GKN OffHighway took part in the latest edition of SIMA , the International Exhibition of Agricultural Machinery that took place from February 22nd to 26th in Paris, with a 140 mq double floor stand that, with no doubt, was one of the most appreciated both by visitors and GKN staff attending the show. As we previously did at EIMA 2008, also on this occasion we aimed at emphasizing the global identity of GKN OffHighway as a corporate division, highlighting the prestigious 250th anniversary of GKN, a brand that stands out not only for its unquestioned technological value but also for the long and consolidated experience preceding it.
Despite the downturn that the global economy and especially the automotive industry are presently experiencing, the farm machinery market seems to be getting through the slowdown that, although globally acknowledged and perceived, does not arouse any particular pessimism or concern among market operators. On the contrary it seems to be opening new and broader market horizons and strategies. In fact, as often happens during periods of high volatility and financial uncertainty, readiness to evaluate new proposals and redesign commercial relationships and balances become key factors in overturning the negative trend, with an extremely careful view to quality-to-price ratio a little less attracted by innovations in technology. In this new light, also the critical situation faced by some of our all-time competitors like BPW in the axles business – whose absence was felt at SIMA 2009 – gives us a great opportunity to make new contacts which could become extremely profitable in the future.
